Being the first single of Friendly Fires' new album Pala, Live Those Days Tonight was bound to get the remix treatment. Especially so since Friendly Fires are so remix-friendly, synthy sounding indie rockers.

The Tim Green Main Mix is first up. It's pretty nice, not outstanding though. It's slower and lighter than the original track, with more of an emphasis on percussion and less on the guitar element.

The Lone Remix incarnation of the song takes this percussion element and extends it further. Again, more emphasis on the drums and synth, and less on the guitar. It's pretty slow, and has an almost otherworldly sound to it, with liberal use of the echo filter. It's actually surprisingly jarring, yet still somehow not annoying.

Last, but not least, it's the Catz N Dogz Remix. This is probably my favourite of the remixes on this single. It's experimented more, both instrumentally and vocally. It's airy, with a bigger build and drop than the other two remixes. I like the way it progresses, and it's clearly the best of the three.

All in all, fairly bland, standard remixes. I wish they'd ventured further than the average. Friendly Fires deserve better!
